71 -- POWER DRAWER CABINET STORAGE SYSTEM (VERTICAL LIFT) SOL DAAC83-98-T-0284 DUE 100598 POC Linda D. Stanley, Contract Specialist, (512) 961-3749/Claude Adams, Contracting Officer (512) 961-3913 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6, as suppliemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solictation: proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Request for Quote number DAAC83-98-T-0284 applies to this acquisition. Solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-03. The associated standard industrial classification code is 2599 with a small business size standard of 500. This is a unrestricted acquisition (full and open competition) . Line item 0001 has a quantity of 2 each for a standard power drawers cabinet storage system (vertical lift retrieval) and to include on-site installation at the Corpus Christi Aremy Depot, Corpus Christi, TX 78419-5260. The following is a description : a. Standard power drawer Cabinet: 16' unit consisting of variable vertical spacing. Unit shall consist of a minimum of 45 drawers. Actual Number of drawers shall be determined based on an average spacing of 6" pitch. All drawers shall be equipped with component loading diagrams and associated dividers. Each drawer shall have a minimum 500 lb load capacity. b. Accessibility: Both units shall have a side entrance service door for routine maintenance and accessibility to inventory in the event of failure. c. System Capacity: Each storage unit shall not occupy more than 75 square feet of usable space. Total capacity of each system shall be a minimum of 85,000 lbs. A minimum of 5 horsepower (peak) vertical lift drive shall be used to power each unit. The lift platform for carrying loaded drawers shall have a minimum capacity of 500 lbs in each unit. d. Safety and Security: Both units shall be equipped with an emergency stop button and operator safety features to prevent operator injury. This shall include but not be limited to system shutdown if service door is opened during operation or anindividual extends into the storage space through the operators window. The storage units shall be equipped with keyboard control and supervisor security password. A pull down locking door shall be included on each system for added security during "off" hours. Operators light shall be included in both units at the operators window. Height sensors shall be placed in both units to prevent part damage and insure operator safety. e. Inventory Control: System shall include interface for hook-up to standard office PC to insure computer control. Inventory Management Software shall be included in both systems and be compatible with existing mainframe database. f. Accessories: All drawer accessories shall be factory installed and ready for use upon delivery. g, Installation: All items shall be installed by the offeror. The government will provide power to the recommended disconnect switch. Commerical Item Provisions 52.212-1, 52.212-2, 52.212-3, 52.212-4 and 52.212-5 apply. This is a DO rated acquisition.
