99 -- ERFO CONSTRUCTION SOL DTFH68-98-RFQ-00005 DUE 100698 POC Bob Lale (303) 716-2010 This request for quotation is issued for project CA ERFO 11N26-1(3), Wrights Lake Road, Sites 80A, 80B, and 80C slide repairs, in El Dorado County, California. The project consists of reconstructing the roadway and embankment fill at three sites within approximately 200 m of each other. At Site 80A, geocomposite sheet drain will be placed in the benches of the rebuilt embankment. At Site 80B, the work includes breaking all rock larger than 500 mm found in the failure area and keying the rock fragments into the bottom of the fill reconstruction. An estimated 1500 cubic meters of rock and earth embankment material will be constructed (cross-section volume, no shrink or swell is applied). In addition to the material on site, approximately 1100 cubic meters (as measured in the stockpile) of usable rock and earth embankment material will be stockpiled by others in the right lane beginning above Site 17. This stockpile of material is available for the rock embankment and earth embankment required for the repair of Site 80C and the earth embankment required for Site 80A and Site 80B. The repair site will require erosion control devices consisting of silt fence, rice straw bales, and the maintenance of erosion control devices, including those installed by others to contain sediment from the stockpiled embankment material. The site will not require final turf establishment. The work will include the rebuilding of an estimated 60 m of eroded ditch and shoulder. Aggregate base will be placed on all three sites. Asphalt paving, using a mechanical paver, will be required at these three sites and also at Site 18. The three sites are located on the Wrights Lake Road aproximately 55 kilometers east of Placerville, CA on US 50. The Wrights Lake Road intersects U.S. 50 on the north side. Approximately 0.8 kilometers north of US 50, the road is closed to traffic during construction. Work on weekends is permitted. Estimated price range is between $25,000 and $100,000. This procurement will be a small purchase based on the rules and regulations of (FAR Part 13). No work may be performed from sunset until sunrise. Work on the weekends is permitted.
