commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart
12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this
notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals
are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
This solicitation is issued as a request for quote. This solicitation
document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect
through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-04. SIC Code 7379 $18.0M. Place
of performance Special Boat Squadron Two, NAB Little Creek, Norfolk,
VA. There is one line item number and quantity of 12 months. Services,
non-personal: Contractor is responsible for installation and updating
of new workstation software or installed/new workstations on an
unclassified LAN as required by the Automated Information Officer.
Maintain current LAN configuration data. Provide informal training to
LAN users as required to correct operator errors. Provide maintenance
support for software and hardware including corrective maintenance on
servers, workstation, peripherals, cable plants, and application
software. Ensure server configurations provide the AIS security
features in accordance with all DOD/OPNAV/SECNAV/CSBR2 directives and
instructions. A working knowledge of the operation and interaction of
military communication and application software including but not
limited to Winsalts, STARSFL, MICROSNAP,FEDLOG, Global Tracking
Network, HRO Center PPI, Application Extender Information Storage &
Retrieval Database, PBAS with Infoconnect, Visioneer Paperport
w/software, CD-RW w/ software, ATOS, and Travelor. Working knowledge of
state of the art LAN systems hardware, software, techniques, and
concepts such as OSI model, repeaters, bridges, routers, gateways,
DECNet, TCP/IP, SDLC, SNMP protocols, IEEE Ethernet and Token-Ring,
ANSI FDDI, and EIA/TIA cabling standards. Demonstrated ability in the
analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of LAN
application solutions. Demonstrated ability to determine network and
application performance, evaluate and diagnose network performance
issues, and recommend and implement solutions for network performance
improvement. Working knowledge of LAN administration including
security, system and disk management, hardware maintenance, and
activity and performance monitoring. Demonstrated ability to interface
and coordinate efforts of technical and non-technical personnel
involved in architecting LAN system solutions to satisfy information
system needs. Working knowledge of Video teleconferencing and graphics
programs to interface with video projection system. A four year
college degree in computer science, information systems, or related
field, or equivalent job experience. Period of performance is 1 Oct 98
through 30 Sep 99. The offeror shall include documentation to
substantiate above requirements. The provision at FAR 52.212-1,

quotation will be evaluated based on qualification, past performance
and price. Offerors are required to complete and include a copy of the
