L -- DDG 51 AEGIS CLASS AND FFG 7 CLASS PLANNING YARD SERVICES POC Karen Lucchetti, Contract Specialist (703) 602-7600, Rick Fields, Contracting Officer (703) 602-7600 This procurement is for the addition of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) effort to Bath Iron Works Corporation (BIW) sole source Contract N00024-95-C-2804 for DDG 51 AEGIS Class and FFG 7 Class Planning Yard Services. Under this contract, BIW will provide for FMS customers the same services it provides for the US Navy such as SHIPALT Services, Mobile Assistance Teams, Resolution of Emergent Material Problems, Management of Repair Kits, Material and Provisioning, Fabrication Support and Crew Training. BIW is the sole source for these services due to their unique position as design agent and lead shipbuilder for both classes of ships, and their resultant unmatched expertise, knowledge and familiarity with the design and construction of both classes and individual ship configurations. Further, BIW is the only source that possesses comprehensive engineering, configuration, construction, material requirements and logistic databases for both classes.
