The scope of work includes: Replace old air handling units with new on five floors; provide new humidification system; minor architectural/structural modifications of existing air handling rooms; replace laboratory exhaust fans in penthouse; demolish exhaust duct and associated plenum and repair roof and walls; architectural/structural modifications to penthouse roof; provide and install Building Automation System (BAS) along with lighting control for entire building; provide upgrades to electrical capacity; clean existing supply ductwork; install new air supply and exhaust diffusers/grilles. Period of performance will be defined by phases, with each floor of the building constituting a separate phase. Total performance time is approximately one calendar year. Magnitude is estimated between $1 million and $5 million. This is a 100% small business set-aside. The solicitation will be available on or about October 19, 1998 and will include optional line items for the following work: Replacement of existing doors and installation of new security doors and partitions and related card-key work; replacement of existing drinking fountains; replacement of existing lighting fixtures; connection of existing duct system in the High-Tech Lab (sub-Basement) to the new air handler; removal of soffits in typical labs and sealing of existing exhaust ducts; sealing holes in existing walls and floors; painting existing corridor walls; replacement of existing how water reheat piping and coils.
