65 -- BLOOD AND BLOOD PRODUCTS SOL RFI 261-99-58 POC Annie Bell, Contract Specialist REQUEST FOR IDENTIFICATION OF SOURCES ONLY: The VA Medical Center, San Francisco, CA is interested in a consolidation contract for blood and blood products for the various VA Medical Centers, and Clinics. The geographical areas for these VA Centers and Clinics include Reno, Sacramento, Fresno, Santa Rosa, San Francisco, Martinez, San Jose, Palo Alto, and Monterey. The acquisition will be for a base year with 2 option year periods. The blood received shall be typed for ABO and Rh antigens in accordance with methods recommended in the current edition of Standards for Blood Banks and Transfusion Services and the Technical Manual of the American Association of Blood Banks. The Blood Bank shall be currently registered and/or licensed with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Department of Health and Human Services pursuant to Section 510 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, as amended, 21 USC Section 260. Blood Banks shall provide the VA's with 100% "volunteer donor" blood in accordance with FDA rules and regulations effective 5/15/78 or later revision. This acquisition will require at various times, emergency deliveries, minimum of 1 hour, to any one of the areas indicated. All other requirements, terms and conditions will be available in the solicitation package to be issued at a later date.
