Major elements of work include, but are not limited to the following: (1) Demolition of the interior and partial demolition of the exterior of military family housing units in the Capehart area and Roberts Terrace area at Andersen AFB, Guam; (2) Installation of new doors, windows, wall, flooring, cabinets, hardware, air conditioning equipment and equipment pad and enclosures, plumbing fixtures, painting (interior and exterior), piping, valves ductwork, lighting fixtures, panelboards, switches, wiring, conduit, smoke detectors, etc.; (3) Removal of debris, trenching, and backfilling, and landscaping the disturbed areas; (4) Restoration of disturbed paving, grades, slabs and landscapes to original condition; (5) Removal of asbestos-containing material; (6) Contractor shall site verify all locations, dimensions and existing utilities to insure accurate repair and installation requirements; (7) Repair by replacement, sewer lines, sewer service lines and associated work to the extent shown in the contract documents. Work also includes removal/demolition and disposal of existing items as indicated or necessary to complete the work; (8) Installation of new interface couplings, unions and associated hardware; and (9) Provide accurate "red line" drawings to ensure correct as-built drawings. Work also includes clean-up of premises at completion of project. Project magnitude is estimated to be between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000. The performance period will consist of a 120 calendar day mobilization period, followed by a 408 calendar day construction period, for a total performance period of 528 calendar days. The solicitation will be issued on or about 23 Oct 98, with proposals due by COB 23 Nov 98. A nonrefundable fee of $224.00, payable to the United States Department of the Treasury, is required for each solicitation package requested. This fee is intended to reimburse appropriated fund reproduction expenses associated with issuance of the solicitation. The solicitation will be issued on an unrestricted basis; thus, all responsible mainland firms are encouraged to furnish their Federal Express, DHL, or Airborne Express account numbers with their requests to expedite delivery.
