Hickman, Contracting Officer, (507) 272-4075 The Panama Canal Commission intends to acquire a new powered spud system for its floating crane Goliath. The Contractor shall be required to plan, design, build, test and deliver a total of four (4) powered spud systems, including spuds, spudwells, elevating drives, power units and controls; a dedicated lifting and lowering drive unit shall be provided for each spud; the power units will be powered by the electrical system on the Goliath and must be compatible. The completed system shall undergo testing at the Contractor's facilities prior to shipment; and complete operational testing, after all spuds are installed, in the Republic of Panama. The Contractor shall provide an on-site technical representative to oversee the installation, start-up, and testing of the spud system, and to instruct Commission personnel in operation and maintenance features of the equipment. The Contractor shall travel to Panama to verify dimensions and existing conditions prior to the start of any work. Performance period: 180 calendar days after award.
