Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division is seeking sources for a self
contained breathing apparatus. It should be able to: adapt to the
MK-45 chemical/biological mask; have at least a three hour duration at
1.5 hours very heavy exertion at 60 lpm Respiratory Minute Volume
(RMV) and 1.5 hours heavy work at 40 lpm RMV; function as a positive
pressure system; be back mounted with front mount option. Desired
weight is less than twenty pounds. There is no preference as to how gas
is supplied or discarded. Unit may be used in a first responder role
also. Equipment that does not meet all of the above, i.e., exceeds
weight should be submitted for consideration. This is not a
solicitation and a solicitation package will not be issued as a result
of this announcement. If a solicitation is developed it will be
advertised in the Commerce Business Daily. This is a re-announcement of
Sources Sought N61331-98-Q-JM05 due to insufficient response. Responses
