This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for Commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Offer/Quote for (RFQ) F65501-98-Q0450 closing date is of September 29, 1998 at 10:30A.M. Alaska Standard Time. Award will be made on/or about September 30, 1998. This requirement is to overhaul a Detroit Diesel Engine 12V-7IN Model #71227000 S/N 12VA08408, for a Landing Craft located in Ketchikan, Alaska. Quote will be for removal of the engine, overhaul, and reinstallation into the vessel. The problem caused by loss of lube oil. Statement of Work: Vessel will be prepared for engine removal at Alaska Ship & Dry-dock, Ketchikan, Alaska. Contractor will removed the engine and brought to contractor's shop for overhaul. Engine will be disassembled, inspected, hot-tank cleaned, change damaged parts, reassembled to OEM's fits and limits, dyno tested, painted, reinstalled in the vessel, and sea-trailed at your convenience. Contractor must understand that it is the government's responsibility for movement of the vessel, storage, and any winterization. Warranties: Parts are warranted by the mfg. (Detroit Diesel) for a period of 12 months, labor warrantee by contractor for a period of 6 months, conditional that the engine be operated and maintained per the engine manufacturer recommendations. Authorized Detroit Diesel Representative ONLY and original equipment parts (Detroit Diesel), or reliable rebuilt assemblies will be used throughout the overhaul. This vessel is 75 ft long. The Standard industrial code (SIC) is 7699. This solicitation is a RESTRICTED acquisition. The F.O.B. point Ketchikan, Alaska.
