FOR INFORMATION/SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE: The US Army,
Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM), Research, Development and
Engineering Center (RDEC), Intelligence and Information Warfare
Directorate (I2WD) is conducting an industry survey for commercial
off-the-shelf (COTS) mobile x-ray systems. The system must have the
ability to: (1) capture transmission x-ray and Compton scattered x-ray
photons; (2) display dual imaging of transmission and Compton
scattered x-ray images; (3) be mounted in a standard General Motors
G-3500 van or similar vehicle in form, fit and function; (4) operate at
a level of exposure less than .5mR per hour at 2 inches from the
cabinet. The system must also be completely self-contained and able to
be operated with no additional equipment required. The system should
be capable of operating either by self-contained generator power or
local shore power. Also, the system shall be able to operate in extreme
environments found along southwest border locations. Those sources who
feel that they can deliver such a system should express their interest
by submitting sufficient documentation explaining their system
specifications, item description, and other pertinent material to
enable this office to develop an acquisition strategy towards acquiring
such a capability. Documentation should include, but is not limited to,
commercial validation and, if necessary, rough drawings and sketches
depicting integration into target vehicle, including primary and
auxiliary power sources and weight constraint considerations. Any
information relative to schedule for development, production, delivery,
and price history would also be helpful. All proprietary information
should be marked as such. This Request for information (RFI)/Sources
Sought (SS) Notice is for information and planning purposes only and
shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation of the
part of the US Army CECOM. The purpose of this RFI/SS is to identify
potential sources that may be interested in and capable of performing
the work described herein. The US Army CECOM does not intend to award
a contract on the basis of responses nor otherwise pay for the
preparation of any information submitted. Acknowledgement of receipt of
responses will not be made, nor will respondents be notified of RDEC
I2WD evaluation of the information received. SUBMISSION: Responses to
