This is a COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for commercial items prepared
in accordance with the information in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented
with the additional information included in this notice. This
announcement constitutes the only solication: PROPOSALS ARE BEING
RQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. Solicitation
number is DADA10-98-Q-1014 and is issued as a Request for Quotation
(RFQ). This solicitation documents and incorporates provisions and
clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-42. This is
a sole-source procurement. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) is
7382 and Small business Standard is $9m. DESCRIPTION: The government
intends to pursue a purchase order for a Chubb Access/Badging System
for the United States Army Medical Information Systems and Support
Agency on a sole source basis with Chubbs Security Systems, Inc., 2566
Bitters Road, San Antonio, Texas 78217. The following are items
required. Quick Work Badging System components includes: Pentium 166
MHz Computer, 16MB Ram, 1.2 GB Hard drive disk drive, 24X CD-ROM
Windows 95 preloaded, Quick Works Video Imaging Software Preloaded, 14"
SVGA Monitor, Keyboard and Mouse, FC100 Analog Video Camera w/Flash and
Tripod, Image Card III Color Badge Printer; (1) 818SX Control
Processor; (1) Software and Hardware Support; (1) BiDirectional
Interface; (11) Proximity readers; (500) Quad Keys; (1) 818SC to
Upgrade /y2K; (1) next Sentry Software; (7) Electric Door Strike; (9)
Request- to-Exit Motion Detectors; (1) 778A Remote Annunciator Control
Module; and all training, installation of Software, Wire, Labor and
Miscellaneous materials are included. NOTE: Customer to provide
electrical power. NOTE 2: Customer to provide one ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM
HOST computer with recommended hardware which includes: a. 133 Mhz or
faster Processor for optimum performance; b. Windows NT 4.0 or later
Operating System; c. 32MB RAM or greater for maximum performance; d.
750MB minimum hard disk; e. Minimum of 3 RS232 Ports; f. Required
peripherals: floppy drive, sound card, CD ROM, 9600 baud modem or
faster, SVGA printer, controller; g. Recommended peripherals; tape
backup, printer. Services to be included: Complete access control
management to include additions and deletions of employee's codes,
access level restrictions changes and monthly user activity reports,
all performed from PC based system. The system will expand to handle up
to 20,000 cards and 128 readers. All conduit, wiring, fittings, and
installation to be included. Contractor to provide Maintenance and
labor for the first year. This ADPE/Software will be shipped to
USAMISSA-SA (PROV), ATTN: PBO MARK FOR R. PINA, 2108 9TH STREET, Bldg
4190 (BAY B), San Antonio, TX 78234-5005. Proposals may be provided on
company letterhead stationary and shall provide this office the
following information: Solicitation number; company name, address,
telephone number, price; any discount terms for prompt payment; and
correct mailing and remittance addresses. Proposal shall be faxed or
hand carried to MEDCOM Contracting Center, ATTN: MCC, Building 4197,
2107 17th Street, Fort Sam Houston, Tx 78234-5015 NLT 4:00 p.m. central
time, COB 30 Sep 98, with delivery 15 days after award. For information
