The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) launched an expanded Internet based Electronic Mall, known as the DoD EMALL on January 29 1998. Through the EMALL, all military customers and other authorized users can search for and order spare parts and other needed logistics support items more conveniently and quickly. DLA's EMALL customers will be able to search for their requirements and place orders for items that are in DLA stock or directly from vendors who are participating in the EMALL. In addition, DLA is developing the ability for standard system generated MILSTRIP requisitions to search the EMALL for potential sources and placement of orders. DSCR seeks additional vendors to participate to include their items into the EMALL. Vendors should meet the following criteria: 1. Currently sell commerical items that are routinely purchased by DLA and DLA's major customers, (Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps). 2. The items sold to DLA's major customers, who are candidates for the EMALL, should be listed in catalogs of commerical items sold in substantial quantities to the general public. 3. In exchange for obtaining visibility to DLA's worldwide customer market, be prepared to offer discounts on items sold through the EMALL. 4. Be capable of using ANSI X12 transaction sets to include 810, 850, 855, and 997.
