This research program is directed toward scientists and clinicians early in their careers and is intended to advance the understanding of events occurring after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation. The program is dedicated to the memory of Amy Strelzer Manasevit and is made possible through the generosity and commitment of her family and friends. Requirements and Conditions of the Amy Strelzer Manasevit Scholars Program: (1) The research proposal must address issues arising after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. (2) Proposals may describe clinical investigations, translational research or basic laboratory investigations. (3) Awards will be made for a maximum of $240,000 in research support divided over two years. (4) Applicants must have received a doctoral degree (M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent) within the past ten years (after January 15, 1989). (5) Applications must be received on or before Friday, January 15, 1999. (6) The Awards Committee will review proposals and select two Amy Strelzer Manasevit Scholars who will be announced during the Tandem 1999 BMT Meetings (IBMTR/ABMTR and ASBMT) at Keystone, Colorado, February 28-March 6, 1999.
