CORPS DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS NOTICE
OR OTHERWISE PAY FOR THE INFORMATION REQUESTED. The Marine Corps
Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is currently defining its requirements
for a Personal Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) system which can be
integrated into a standard-issue M40 Field Protective Mask. This
requirement is for the PAPR only. The PAPR is a positive pressure, open
circuit respirator intended for use in contaminated environments that
may be Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health (IDLH). This PAPR should
be designed to easily integrate with the M40 field protective mask
allowing the user to attain the protective properties of the mask in
conjunction with the cooling and easy breathing properties of the PAPR.
The PAPR must have a battery with a duration of at least eight (8)
hours. The filters (C2 and other commercially available industrial
filters) must have a usage duration of at least six (6) hours. Both
requirements arebased on a moderate workload for an average sized man.

INFORMATION AVAILABLE OTHER THAN THAT PROVIDED IN THIS SOURCES SOUGHT
SYNOPSIS. All parties which believe that they have an "M40 PAPR"
currently available which meets the needs of the Marine Corps or have
the ability to develop one are requested to provide a description of
their product and capabilities to the address provided above. All
responses must be in writing and must be submitted for consideration no
