The quantities for the woman's s/s shirt have increased, from min/max 9,600/19,200 to min/max 27,600/55,200. The minimum/maximum quantities cited for man's shirt l/s, s/s and woman's l/s shirt in this acquisition represent only about half of the annual customer demand. The balance of the demand will be satisified by Unicor, Federal Prison Industries, as this item is on the Unicor Procurement List. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 8, the Government is required to acquire items through Unicor when the items appear on its procurement list. It is mandatory for the successful contractor under this procurement to utilize Unicor as a subcontractor for the three shirts for roughly the same quantities of each shirt as shown in the solicitation. Therefore, the successful contractor will direct the manufacturing efforts of Unicor to ensure adequate restocking of sizes and quantities as described in the solicitation, under the Vendor-Managed Program.
