synopsis entitled "Facility Operating Services at John C. Stennis Space
Center" that was posted on September 11, 1998. You are notified that
the following changes and additions are made to the Facility Operating
Services (FOS) recompetition synopsis: (1) release of the Draft
Request for Proposal (DRFP) has been postponed to October 15, 1998; (2)
an industry Orientation Briefing and Observation Period will be held at
Stennis Space Center on November 2, 1998 through November 5, 1998; (3)
a Small Business Networking Opportunity at Stennis Space Center will
be available on November 6, 1998; and (4) the due date for receipt of
comments for the DRFP will be November 19, 1998. The initial
Orientation Briefing and windshield tour of SSC facilities is scheduled
for Monday, November 2, 1998, beginning at 8:30 AM (CST) at Building
1200, SSC Visitor Center Auditorium. An Observation Period will follow
on November 3-5, 1998. The Initial Orientation and Observation Period
Coordinator isMs. Trish Penton. Requests for attendance at the
Orientation Briefing and Observation Period should be made to Ms.
Penton at telephone (228) 688-1932, fax (228) 688-1777, or e-mail
trish.penton@ssc.nasa.gov. Attendance at the Orientation Briefing and
Observation Period is recommended; however, attendance is neither
required nor a prerequisite for proposal submission and will not be
considered in the evaluation. Due to space availability, attendance
will be limited to three (3) individuals per company (including
subsidiaries) for the initial Orientation Briefing and two (2)
individuals per company for the Observation Period. The Small Business
Networking Opportunity at Stennis Space Center for the FOS will
involve an informal setting and will be held at the Rouchon House
(Building 2425) on Friday, November 6, 1998 from 8:00 AM (CST) to 12:00
PM (CST). Tables will be made available for large and small businesses
on a first-come first-serve basis to display their company literature.
NASA's role will only be to make space available to the maximum
practicable extent with no endorsement for any company. Ms. Jane
Johnson, the NASA/SSC Small Business Specialist, will be the
Coordinator for the Small Business Networking Opportunity. Requests to
attend the small business networking shall be sent to Ms. Johnson at
e-mail jane.johnson@ssc.nasa.gov by COB Friday, October 30, 1998.
Attendance at this networking opportunity is limited to two (2) persons
per company due to space availability. It is the offeror's
responsibility to closely monitor this site and/or the CBD for the
release of the DRFP, amendments (if any). A FOS website will also be
activated within the next week. Potential offerors will be responsible
for downloading their own copy of the DRFP and amendments (if any).

constitute a Request for Proposal, and is not to be construed as a
commitment by the Government. The Government does not intend to award
a contract on the basis of the DRFP, Initial Orientation Briefing or
Observation Period, nor will the Government reimburse anyone for
expenses incurred in connection with the review of the DRFP, Initial
Orientation Briefing, or Observation Period. Another synopsis will be
published prior to release of the final RFP. Vendors who are interested
in being placed on the Source List for DRFP 13-SSC-P-99-1 are requested
to send the following information: name of vendor, complete address,
e-mail address (if available), telephone number, and facsimile number.
