10 -- MARKET RESEARCH FOR 81MM MORTAR TUBE POC Contract Specialist: Dan McGuire (309) 782-7262, Contracting Officer: Mary Donovan (309) 782-4895 81mm Mortar Tube * The exterior dimensions for the Tube Assembly (Barrel) are 4.2 inches in diameter x 47.4 inches long. * The tube is machined from an alloy steel forging. * The bore (81mm x 45.0 inches) has a diametral tolerance of .002 inches over 39 inches of the bore length. * An O.D. to I.D. straightness requirement of .015 inches total allowable runout is required. * Magnetic particle inspection is required. * The muzzle is nickel plated and the entire exterior surface is phosphate coated. Any interested contractors will be required to execute a Confidential Non-Disclosure and Non-Use Agreement in order to receive the technical data for the mortar tube.
