NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the purchase of a synthesized sweeper frequency generator (10 mhz to 40 ghz) (model number 68169B), 110 db attenuator (option 2B), 0.1 hz resolution (option 11), and rack mount ears (option 14), compatible with an Anritsu 37169 vector network analyzer system. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Anritsu Company, Richardson, TX. These items will be used to substitute as the primary source for an Anritsu 37169 vector network analyzer which controls our anechoic chamber for making accurate radiation pattern measurements of flight hardware. Because the sweeper must work directly with the other Anritsu hardware over the GPIB communications bus, only units from this company would be compatible. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities as they relate to providing the identified items. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
