(206)220-7423 This project is a Design Build acquisition for a pier
replacement at USCG Station Neah Bay, WA. The new replacement pier will
be comprised of moorings, a boat haul-out, and a long approach trestle.
The new approach trestle will be approximately 400 ft long and will tie
the haul-out and moorings to shore. The approach trestle will provide
support for a 25 ton, rail-mounted boat Travel-Lift. The trestle will
also provide an 8 ft path for foot traffic and a Diatsu type vehicle.
The trestle will be required to carry water, electrical and fuel
utilities to the moorings and haul-out. The haul-out will be at the end
of the approach trestle, approximately 400 ft off shore. The haul-out
will be rated for a 25-ton Travel-Lift, and will include a 60ft by 30ft
work area. The haul-out will be outfitted with shore-tie power for
vessels, compressed air, fire protection and lighting. The moorings
will accommodate permanent Coast Guard 44 ft and 47 ft motor lifeboats,
41ft utility boat, and several smaller transient vessels. The moorings
will include a 24ft by 15ft utility building. The moorings shall be
outfitted with shore-tie power for vessels, compressed air, a vessel
fueling station, and fire protection and lighting. Demolition of the
existing pier will be required. Construction of the new pier shall be
done in the footprint of the existing pier. The construction must
comply with Nation Wide Permitting for Environmental Regulation. The
existing facility is timber construction. Timber will not be considered
for replacement materials. Design for the facility shall include
examination of existing reports on soil conditions, and wave, storm and
earthquake forces, which shall be incorporated into Phase II.
Modifications may have to be done to the existing shore-side boathouse
building floor/apron, to accommodate the new Travel-Lift. Experience
in design and construction of marine/waterfront facilities is required.
