Draper, PA (301) 496-2814 The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases intends to (1)utilize an internationally recognized, collaborative research organization in Thailand to conduct and coordinate HIV Clinical research, (2)develop the infrastructure and expertise to support continued clinical research, and (3)obtain proper assurance for research with human subjects. The United States Government intends to negotiate a sole source simplified acquisition with the HIV-NAT (Human Immunodefieciency Virus-Netherlands, Australia and Thailand)Research collaborative with the primary objectives of this protocol to (1)demonstrate the safety and tolerance of IL-2 in combination antirevirals, (2)demonstrate immunological efficacy of IL-2 in combination antirevirals therapy, and (3)determine feasibility of Thai participation as one of the sites in a future randomized controlled trail interleukin-2 The NIH is limited to providing technical and administrative support only.The following services and support may be acquired under the acquisition. They are nursing services (full and/or part-time), pharmaceutical and laboratory technician services, laboratory testing services, office administrative support, and various clinical laboratory and administrative equipment/supplies from and for use in Thailand. Because of the patient audience and location of the study, the United States Government intends to negotiate this acquisition as a sole source.
