The US Army TACOM-ARDEC is seeking qualified producers for the development and fabrication of Qualification Quantities of the XM783 Point Detonating/Delay Fuze PD/DLY). This effort will be executed as a Materiel Change Program to the M734A1 Multi-Option Fuze for Mortars (MOFM). This is a one-time effort. The requirement is to assemble M734A1 MOFM without the proximity sensor electronics, maintaining commonality of components with the M734A1 MOFM to the greatest extent possible. The contract will be executed in two phases: Phase I Engineering Design, Phase II Design Qualification. During the execution of Phase I the contractor will manufacture and deliver a total of 200 XM783 fuzes for engineering tests. 500 XM783 Fuzes are required for the Phase II Design Qualification. Required delivery dates are July 1999 for Phase I and June 2000 for Phase II. No Government Furnished Material (GFM) will be provided.
