The project consists of reconstructing the Site 19 roadway and embankment fill. The project consists of reconstructing the Site 19 roadway and embankment fill. An estimated 1500 cubic meters of earth embankment material will be needed (cross-section volume, no shrink or swell is applied). The work includes placing a geotextile fabric between embankment layers. In addition to the material on site, approximately 1400 cubic meters (as measured in the stockpile) of usable earth embankment material will be stockpiled by others in the right lane below Site 18. The repair site will require erosion control devices consisting of silt fence, rice straw bales, and the maintenance of erosion control devices, including those installed by others to contain sediment from the stockpiled embankment material. The contract requires seeding at Sites 80A, 80B, 80C, 18, and 19. Site 19 will require the placement of aggregate base, asphalt paving, the installation of a pipe culvert, and constructing a riprap apron. The site is located on the Wrights Lake Road approximately 55 kilometers east of Placerville, CA on US 50. The Wrights Lake Road intersects U.S. 50 on the north side. Approximately 0.8 kilometers north of US 50, the road is closed to traffic during construction. Site 19 must be accessed from the north, except when mobilizing and demobilizing the paving equipment and the asphalt haul. Access for these operations may take place via U.S. 50 and Wright's Lake Road. Work on weekends is permitted. Estimated price range is between $25,000 and $100,000.
