INFORMATION ON AUTHENTICATION AND SECURITY PRODUCTS FOR COMPUTER AND

(850)884-8242 This is a Request for Information. The Command and
Control Battlelab (C2B) is requesting information on authentication and
security products for computer and network access. These products
should enhance the security of computer networks by replacing the
current password system with one that uses more robust technology. The
areas that this request is looking at are biometrics, "SMART" cards,
and RF cards, but respondents are not limited to those areas since all
ideas will be accepted. Potential products must be capable of running
on both Windows NT and SUN platforms. In addition to multiple
operating systems, the product must meet the following criteria: 1) not
be work intensive for the system administrator, 2) allow multiple users
access to one machine and allow one user access to multiple machines,
3) operate on computer networks as well as stand alone workstations,
and 4) have both a PCMCIA and parallel port interfaces. Respondents to
this RFI/market survey are requested to provide technical data
toinclude a discussion of the value their product would add to the
security of computer networks. All corporate and proprietary
information should be so marked and will be fully protected to the
extent allowed. This RFI is for planning purposes only and shall not be
construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of
the Government to acquire any follow-on acquisitions. The Government
does not intend to award a contract on the basis of the RFI or
otherwise pay for the information solicited. No entitlement to payment
of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as
a result of submission of responses to this RFI and Government use of
such information. This RFI does not constitute the solicitation of
proposals. Responders to this RFI may be requested to provide
additional details/information based on their initial submittals.
