Lewis, Contract Specialist, 202-324-9219 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals/Quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) Number FBICU9901, the provisions and clauses incorporated are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) number 97-6. This solicitation is under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The Standard Industrial Classification is 3569, and the business size is 500 employees. This will be a Firm-Fixed Price Contract. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole basis with Ideal Products, Inc., 700 Loudon Avenue, Lexington, KY, 40505. According to market research this is the only company that manufactures a Pan Disrupter that meets the government specifications: Specifications are: 1) Shock tube initiated, 2) percussion actuated, 3) breech loaded, capable of using standard and custom 12 gauge ammunition. 4) high tensile strength stainless steel construction, 5) 24 inch barrel, 6) performance fully characterized and documented through a formal test and evaluation program. Warranty -- one year or better. FOB-Destination -- Cheverly, MD. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposal. However, all quotes received will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
