The National Institute of CHild Health and Human Development (NICHD) plans to extend the current contract NO1-HD-5-3233 to Westat, Inc., Rockville, MD using other than full and open competition to continue to maintain current data management system in a secure manner providing confidentiality of study subjects, for physical protection of data files and programs against catastrophic loss, and for freedom from viruses. The current contractor has been performing this task for about three and a half years already. NICHD requires to extend this task for another fourteen months until the completion of the GBS study. The determination to use other than full and open competition was made in accordance with 41 USC 253 (c)(1). An organization capable of performing this task without a costly and significant break in work should submit a statement of capabilities with documentation supporting its ability to meet the Government's requirements as described above. The purpose of this synopsis is to determine whether there are other sources with the requisite qualifications to perform the work described above.
