This is a special notice being used by Westinghouse Savannah River Company (WSRC), management and operating contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy's Savannah River Site (SRS) near Aiken, South Carolina. WSRC wishes to determine public interest in a graphical user interface (GUI) event-driven scientific application that integrates fourteen (14) background processes to access the consequences of accidental releases of hazardous materials from production facilities and transportation vehicles. A simple, straight-line Gaussian assumption has been employed with observations from meteorological towers to calculate and visually display plume directions, plume width, and dose/concentration estimates in the immediate vicinity of a radiological or chemical release.
