Commerce/NOAA/NWS/International Activities Office is sponsoring a
workshop on International Meteorological Cooperation in an effort to
collaboratively address global issues and challenges for the future.
The National Weather Service requires the services of a contractor to
design, organize, and facilitate this workshop. The contractor must
have professional experience and knowledge of the operations of
NOAA/NWS, especially related to meteorological and hydrological
services. The contractor must have knowledge and experience with the
various issues being addressed at the workshop: The Future of National
Meteorological and Hydrological Services; Information Access,
Exchanges and the Internet; The Role of the Media and the Private
Sector. The contractor must have knowledge of the role and functioning
of the World Meteorological Organization and other international
organizations, as relates to the workshop issues. NOAA/NWS intends to
negotiate on a sole source basis with Lynne M.Carbone & Associates
located in Potomac, Maryland to provide the following: 1) Set-up the
design of the workshop; 2) Provide specialized materials needed for the
workshop; 3) Provide pre-conference coaching and preparation for U.S.
participants and others; 4) Act as workshop facilitator(s); 5) Provide
the results of the first day's sessions and provide real-time
documentation of the workshop deliberations and results; 6) Provide
post session packaging of all workshop discussions and consultation on
next steps. Period of Performance: Date of Award through February 28,
1999. Other offerors, that have the ability to provide this type of
service, are invited to submit information as to their capabilities and
any other pertinent data to the address above, to be received no later
than 10 days from the date of this notice. No solicitation package
exists; therefore, a request for such package will not be considered.
