E-MAIL: David. G. Morgan, david.morgan@msfc.nasa.gov. NASA/MSFC plans to issue a Request for Offer (RF0) for the Operational Installation of an Existing Autoclave. The effort includes the installation, inspection, testing, checkout, and commissioning of an operable 18'X 20' autoclave system including the operational training of MSFC personnel. The autoclave is intended for use within the aerospace manufacturing industry to provide for curing and bonding of carbon, fiberglass, kevlar, graphite, plastic and metal honeycomb composite component parts. The autoclave is located and will be installed at the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville, Alabama. This procurement is being conducted under the Midrange Acquisition Procedures. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 1796 and $7M, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9. The provisions and clauses in the RFO and model contract are those in effect through FAC 97-06. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about October 30, 1998 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about November 16, 1998. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B".
