70 -- TASK MASTER 3V TASK SCHEDULER/PROCESSOR FOR NETWARE MASTER LICENSE AGREEMENT SUPPORTING 500+ SERVERS POC Alba Sanchez, 301-457-1831 The Bureau of the Census intends to negotiate with Avanti Technology Inc., 13804 Gleneagle Drive, #802, Colorado Springs, CO 80921 for a Master License Agreement for the period FY1999 through FY2001 in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. The requirements for Server to Server Software Distribution will be installed at 12 Regional Census Centers (RCCs) and 476 Local Census Offices (LCOs) for use in the Decennial Census. New Software, Software updates and Software changes must be distributed to each of these servers. Software must be able to check APPS volumes on all LCOs and RCCs servers so that they are all set up exactly the same way. Software must have the ability to distribute software from a single server to multiple servers. Must have the ability to verify that software was distributed correctly. Must have the ability to compare the files on one volume to the files on the master volume to ensure that the two volumes are in sync. This must a file by file compare and should not utilize an additional database to compare the volumes. A report should be created listing the differences between the volumes. This is a critical troubleshooting tool. Must have the ability to transfer files to the DOS partition on the server. This is critical for distributing patches to mulitple servers. Often times files on the DOS partition are changed when Novell releases a service pack. Also this is necessary for duplexed disks so that if a disk fails, we will be able to start the server on the other disk. Must have the ability to schedule synchronization on a regular basis, for example every night at a particular time. This schedule must require no manual intervention. Must have the ability to complete a synchronization immediately if necessary. The synchronization must not only distribute the changed files from the master server to the RCC and LCO servers, it must also verify that no files are incorrect on those servers and correct the files if necessary.
