preferable that existing UPC codes be converted to the five (5) digit
stock number; 5) the system must be capable of the following: issuing
stock, receipting stock, costing (last cost in and averaging),
ordering, stock, adjustments (cost and inventory), sales history,
physical inventory (perpetual and annual), return of stock, price
changes, ad-hoc queries, complete item history, etc.; 6) must have
bar-code reading capability; 7) must have the ability to export data to
be converted to HTML for a WEB catalog; 7) must be able to import and
export data for interface to NIST's existing accounting and procurement
systems; 8) the system shall operate in a real-time environment
consisting of approximately 20 users at any one time. Stock levels
changed by issues, receipts, adjustments, etc. shall be reflected
immediately; 9) system results will be compared with a rudimentary
"parallel" testing/comparison method. Sources capable of providing this
software should send product literature, pricing information, and any
other market information which will assist the Government in the
preparation of a solicitation to: NIST, Attn: Teresa A. Reefe,
