R -- The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) intends to solicit proposals for Conference Management Support. The scope of this effort includes the Staffing Conference scheduled for May of 1999 together with options for conferences in each of the next four years. OPM may require the Conference Management services contractor handle all aspects of the exhibitor program and production aspects of the general conference such as marketing, signage and audio / video. This involves planning, pricing, developing revenue streams, controlling costs, bundling, marketing, graphics, design, publishing, as well as management and execution of these services. OPM has entered into a contract with the University of Maryland University College Inn and Conference Center to house our Conference for up to five years beginning in 1999. Under this contract, the Conference will begin the first Monday of May each year and run for approximately 3 days. The effort includes conference planning, exhibit planning, attendee planning, promotion, preparation of program materials, on-site show management, liaison with facility staff, and post-event activities. Last year, the Conference attracted 520 paid attendees and 27 non-OPM exhibitors. This effort is 100% set-aside for small business concerns. The SIC Code is 8741. The size standard is $5,060,000 average for the past three years. The solicitation is scheduled for release two (2) weeks after the date of publication in the Commerce Business Daily. After release, the solicitation will be posted on the OPM internet site at http://www.opm.gov/procure and be available for download at that time.
