Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Dayton, Ohio anticipates issuing a construction contract for critical air conditioning system component removal, interim support, and replacement. The buildings serviced by this system house essential surgical and laboratory facilities. Construction completion time is 6 months. Project requires removal and disposal of two existing water chillers and the attached cooling tower, tower pumps, controls and plumbing. Removed units to be replaced by 640 ton AC chiller, tower pumps, and controls. New system to be integrated with three existing chillers in adjoining building. New system must be integrated with existing Johnson Controls DDC communication system. Replacement project must be phased to provide interim support of the facility and provide for refrigerant reclamation, storage and subsequent reuse.
