Andrews The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection
Service (FSIS) has a requirement for commercially available and
collaboratively studied rapid diagnostic test kits designed
specifically for the detection of all viable Salmonella Serotypes. The
product will be used to analyze meat and poultry products. FSIS
requires a 96-well format enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)
test which can be run on automated equipment. A Firm-Fixed Price
contract is contemplated. This requirement is 100-percent set-aside for
small business concerns. A small business concern is defined for this
procurement as SIC code 3821, $5 million. The period of performance for
this procurement is one year, with four one-year option periods.
Solicitation packages will be available on or around November 3, 1998.
Copies of the solicitation will be made available on the USDA, FSIS

copies are obtained from the website, it will be the responsibility of
the interested party to notify the Contracting Office in order to
obtain amendments if and when they are issued. Hard copies of the
