This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commericial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; offers are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation No. FS-WOC-99-408 is being issued by the USDA Forest Service as a Request for Quotations. This document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-06. This solicitation will be awarded under a Firm Fixed Price contract based on responses to this solicitation. The subsequent contract will be awarded for one (1) base year and two (2) one (1) year options. This solicitation will not be set aside for small business. The Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIC) is 1796, Installation or Erection of Building Equipment. This project is to provide maintenance of two (2) side-by-side Otis Electric Passenger Elevators No.342541-2, 3800 pound capacity each at approximately 288 FPM serving two (2) two openings each in line located at Blanchard Springs Caverns, three and one half miles east of Fifty-Six, Arkansas off State Highway 14 in Stone County. The elevators referenced in this solicitation shall be maintained to comply with all requirements of current American National Standard Safety Code for Elevators, Dumbwaiters, Escalators, and Moving Sidewalks (hereinafter referred to as A17.1 Code) ASE Inspectors Manual and all other applicable laws, regulations, oridances, codes. etc. The A17.2 Code shall be used as a guide to establish that equipment is operating safely. Item 1- Maintenance of two (2)electric elevators located at Blanchard Springs Caverns from January 1, 1999 thru September 30, 1999. Item 2- Maintenance of two (2) electric elevators from located at Blanchard Springs Caverns to cover option year one (1) from October 1, 1999 through September 30, 2000. Item 3- Maintenance of two (2) electric elevators located at Blanchard Springs Caverns to cover option year two (2) from October 1, 2000 through September 30, 2001. Bi-weekly (twice monthly) servicing and inspections shall be performed during regular working hours of regular working days of the trade. Dates and hours shall be scheduled in advance with the Contracting Officer's Representative. Should major repairs or adjustments be required constituting down time in excess of four (4) hours, the Contracting Officer's Representative may require the contractor to perform that work before or after operating hours, as to avoid conflicts with scheduled cavern tours.
