Estimated cost of construction is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. Completion time is 300 calendar days. Project involves the beneficial use of approximately 200,000 cubic yards (cy) of dredged material to restore 41 acres of tidal wetlands in Kingman Lake, DC. The material will be dredged from three locations (1) Washington Sailing Marina, Alexandria, VA; (2) Columbia Island Marina, DC; and (3) Federal Navigation Channel, Anacostia River, DC. The maximum pumping distance is 8 miles. The project also requires the contractor to dredge approximately 20,000 cy to create a tidal gut system and small pond in Kingman Lake. Inflatable water tubes shall be used as dredged material containment dikes in the lake. Following consolidation of the dredged material, the restoration site will be plated with nearly 700,000 wetland plants. All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered. The Subcontracting Goals are as follows: 60% for Small Business Concerns; 8% for Small and Small Disadvantaged Business Concerns; and 5% for Women-Owned Small Business Concerns. A Subcontracting Plan is not required to be submitted with your bid, but will be required prior to award of a contract.
