The project contains six (6) different work sites along Lake Creek. The first site consists of raising the road grade with the use of gabion baskets and borrow material. Site No. 2 requires raising the existing bridge and reconstructing the road. Site No. 3 utilizes gabion faced hilfiker-type wall construction. Site No. 4 is the reconstruction of roadbed, walking an excavator to the middle of the stream and removing 1.5 m3 from the old channel and utilizing the material to block the new stream channel. Site Nos. 5 & 6 consists of shifting roadbed right and armoring existing stream bank. Take Hwy. 95 north from New Meadows, Idaho, turn right onto the Salem River Road (FH60), proceed along this road for approx. 8 kilometers. Just prior to crossing the Salem River, turn right onto the Lake Creek Road No. 50104. The project begins 300m beond the road junction. Est. start date is 12/01/98 with 120 calendar days for completion. Est. price range is between $100,000 and $250,000.
