This is a combined synopsis /solicitation for commercial parts prepared
in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemental with
additional information included in the notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a
written solicitation will not be issued. This is a request for
quotation (RFQ) number DTCG80-99-Q-3FA062. This solicitation document
will incorporate provisions and clauses that are in effect through
Federal Acquisition Circular 97-08. The standard industrial
classification code is 3499 and the size standard is 500 employees. The
requirement is for the following: Contractor to provide (2) each Crane
Deming model 3186, 4x3x9-1/2 size vertical, close coupled pump rated
for 500 gpm of seawater at 280 feet total discharge head. The pumps
shall be equipped with 150# ANSI flange connection (4" suction and 3"
discharge), a mechanical seal with an abrasive separator made of kynar
in the seal water line, and a 75 HP continuous duty, 3500 RPM, 440 VAC
3-phase, open drip proof motor. The motor shall be a NEMA C face JPV
shaft motor for use with vertical in line pumps. The motors shall be in
accordance with IEEE 45 and 46 CFR 111.25. The motor shall be provided
with grease lubricated bearings, a drip cover, lift eyebolts or lugs,
and a 120 VAC single phase, anti-condensations strip heater. The
impeller shall be keyed to the shaft and held securely in place by a
316 SS impeller screw and washer. The pump shall be equipped with a 316
SS shaft sleeve. The purpose of this procurement is to prototype a
replacement for the existing Worthington model D1161 firepumps. Pumps
to be delivered to USCGC BEAR, 4000 Coast Guard Blvd., Portsmouth, VA
23703 by 15 February 1999. The government will award a contract
resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer
conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the
government, price and other factors considered. The following factors
shall be used to evaluate offer: Price, Required Delivery Date. The
following FAR Clauses will apply to this solicitation: 52.219-6 Notice
