Because of severe damage that resulted from Hurricane Georges, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) intends to award a contract for travel trailers. Up to 500 travel trailers may be required and a minimum of 100 travel trailers will be required to house disaster victims along the coast of the Gulf of New Mexico (from Louisiana to Florida). The required travel trailers will be procured through commercial items acquisition procedures. Additionally, the travel trailers shall be delivered to a staging site in Jackson County, Mississippi. FEMA intends to award one contract for all travel trailers. The contract is anticipated to be a fixed price contract with options for additional quantities. Copies of the solicitation will be issued on or about October 20, 1998, and proposals will be due on or about October 26, 1998.
