Supervision Division of the Administrative Office of the United States
Courts (AOUSC), Washington, D.C., is seeking information on, and
sources of, systems that are able to verify an offender's location from
a remote site using technologies such as voice recognition (similar to
Watch Patrol from Electronic Monitoring Systems, Inc.) and/or the
Global Positioning Satellite system (similar to the SMART system from
Pro Tech Monitoring). Please submit correspondence on company
letterhead along with any other descriptive information which includes:
1) point of contact; 2) technical description of system, and; 3)
estimated price for standard system. Any other information relative to
production capabilities, delivery, and price history would also be
helpful. This Request for Information (RFI)/Sources Sought (SS) Notice
is for information and planning purposes only, and shall not be
construed as a Request for Proposal, announcement of a solicitation, or
other obligation on the part of the AOUSC. Do not send samples. Any
proprietary information must be marked as such. Contingent on the type
and number of responses received in answer to this RFI/SS notice, the
AOUSC is planning on allowing selected vendors to present product
demonstrations at our offices in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 19, 1998.
The AOUSC will not award a contract on the basis of responses to this
RFI/SS nor otherwise pay for the preparation of any information
