Laboratory, Human Effectiveness Directorate, Wright Research Site
(AFRL/HESS ) solicits research proposals for Agent-based Modeling and
Behavioral Representation (AMBR). In order to improve the operational
realism of the Joint Synthetic Battlespace (JSB) and reduce the cost of
conducting such simulations, the government intends to develop and
demonstrate a new intelligent agent technology, the intelligent
controller node (ICN). The ICN is an intelligent software agent that
initiates, observes and reacts to events within a JSB. In this effort,
three types of ICNs will be developed, enabling: (1) the modeling of
command and control (C2) echelons; (2) the performance of technical
controllers or support cell operations, and; (3) the simulation of
complex human behavior. One of the major goals of this solicitation is
to rapidly advance the state-of-the-art of agent-based modeling in
support of JSB exercises. To achieve this goal, the government will
pursue two avenues of research. One avenue of research will focus on
developing and demonstrating ICNs at major Air Force exercises. The
second line of research will focus on developing advanced modeling
techniques (which can be incorporated into ICNs) by creating a
competitive situation where the government funds multiple contractors
to model the same challenging behavioral phenomena. The success of
these approaches will be compared and contrasted at an annual
comparison held in conjunction with a national conference. Interested
offerors may view and/or download the full PRDA solicitation by
accessing the AFRL Wright Research Site Contracting homepage at

Contracting point of contact identified in the announcement. *** Posted
