Y -- MODERNIZATION OF ELEVATORS IN THE RUSSELL SENATE OFFICE BUILDING SOL RFP No. 990001 DUE 120498 POC Procurement Division, (202) 226-2557. The Architect of the Capitol has a requirement for modernization of up to ten (10) elevators in the Russell Senate Office Building, 1st and C Streets, N. E. Washington, DC. The work will include new components, utilizing the latest proven designs, to upgrade (1) controls which are fully compatible of connection to the existing elevator monitoring systems including all wiring, (2)car control stations and hall stations including refurbishment of the signage on all floors, (3) hoistway access switches, (4) door operator, clutch and hardware, (5) refurbishment of all car and counterweight sheaves, (6) normal and final stopping devices and all stop switches, (7) car and counterweight roller guides, (8) car top inspection stations, and replacement of cab interiors. The base requirement is for a minimum of seven elevators with a maximum of ten elevators to be refurbished dependent on the funding available at the time of award. The estimated value of the procurement is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The tentative date for the release of the solicitation package is November 6, 1998. A site visit is scheduled for November 17, 1998 at 17 at 8:30 a.m. Specifics will be in the solicitation. This requirement is issued as full and open competition.
