70 -- MICROCODE INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE DUE 102998 POC Tuana Williams/Alyce Niklich, 618/229-9449 DESC: The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO), Computer Technology Division, Procurement Branch (DTS42) intends to issue a sole source contract to Amdahl Corporation for the acquisition of Microcode level (10X) installation and maintenance. The requested microcode upgrade (10X) will bring the system into compliancy. Amdahl has proprietary rights to the microcode. The statutory authority for other than full and open competition is 10 USC 2304 (1), Only One Responsible Source and no Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements. No contract award will be made on the basis of quotations/proposals received in response to this notice, since this synopsis cannot be considered a Request for Quotations/Proposals. The resultant contract will be firm, fixed price. All responses from responsible sources will be considered for evaluating the award of the contract.
