The Air Force Flight Test Center, Edwards AFB CA is seeking sources for airborne telemetry transmitters and ground station-based demodulators using the Feher-patented Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (FQPSK-B) method for modulation and demodulation. The tri-service Advanced Range Telemetry (ARTM) program has requirements for FQPSK-B transmitters for use in both aircraft and missile applications, as well as requirements for associated FQPSK-B demodulators for use in ground stations. The transmitters must be small, rugged and flight qualified. Transmitters must be frequency-agile in 1 MHz steps over the entire required frequency range and bit rate-agile from 1 to 20 Mbps. The required transmitter RF power output is from 2 to 10 watts, depending on application. Transmitters must be a single unit and operate in either 1435.5 to 1534.5 MHz frequency range or the 2200.5 to 2389.5 MHz frequency range. Input voltage will be 28VDC +/- 4VDC. The ground station-based demodulator must be a single unit, either internal or external to the receiver. The demodulator must be bit rate-agile from 1 to 20 Mbps with fast syncrhronization. Delivery date requirements are anticipated to start in mid calendar year 1999.
