Logistic Command, Pacific proposes to contract for the dockside repairs
for the USCGC ACTIVE (WMEC 618). All work will be performed at the
cutter pier side homemoorage Port Angeles, WA. Major work includes and
not limited to the following items: Fuel Oil Tank Clean and
Inspection, Sewage Tank Clean and Inspection, Sounding Tube Ball Check
Installation, Reduction Gear Ten Year Inspection, Controllable Pitch
Propeller Oil Distribution Boxes Inspection and Maintenance,
Miscellaneous Fuel Oil Tank Valve Maintenance, Electric Motor Overhaul,
Tank Level Indicators Renewal, Degaussing Equipment and Cable Removal,
Heating/Chilled Water System Maintenance, Firemain Piping Hydrostatic
Test, Valve Overhaul and Insulation Renewal, Evaporator Overhaul,
Chemical Cleaning & Hydrostatic Test, Potable Water System Deck
Connection Modifications, Fuel Oil Tank Vent Piping Renewal, MSB Davit
Hydraulic Repairs, Flight Deck Mushroom Socket Load Test, Capstan
Controller Foundation Renewal, Sewage Transfer Piping Renewal, Deck
Non-Skid Renewal, Deck Covering Renewal, Fire Retardant Deck Tile
Renewal, Insulation Installation, and Trash Compactor Installation.
Period of performance starts 22 February 1999 and ends 09 April 1999.
The solicitation will be issued on about 16 November 1998. The
procurement will be pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness
Demonstration Program. All responsible sources may submit their bids,
which will be considered by this agency. This notice is for
informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged
Business Enterprises, The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of
Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to
assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to
acquire short-term working capital assistance for
transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide
accounts receivable financing. The maximum credit line is $500,000. For
