The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments command, Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (TACOM-ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey, 07806-5000, intends to issue a Sole Source Contract to the Paladin Original Equipment Manufacturer (United Defense Limited Partnership), utilizing Alpha Contracting procedures. It will be the responsibility of the OEM to provide Systems and Technical Integration expertise to the Government in the most economically efficient manner, which will be critical for the design, development, integration, management, testing, and fabrication of the Enhanced Display Unit (EDU) for the M109A6 Paladin. The EDU will provide Situational Awareness (SA)functionality utilizing Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below (FBCB2) Software which the contractor will tailor to the Paladin Field Artillery needs. The Contractor will have the overall responsibility for hardware, software and specification development to insure interface and functionality requirements are met with the ultimate product/goal being a validated Performance Specification to be delivered to the Government.
