Support Services. SIC: 7376. The Department of State is seeking
information from firms who can provide the services described herein.
Only firms that are small, 8(a), or SDB need respond, so that we may
determine whether the requirement can be set aside. Large firms and
firms without the requisite experience SHOULD NOT RESPOND. The focus of
the required work is LAN/WAN management/administration/integration in
a classified environment. Respondents must have at least 2 years
experience in managing such a contract (i.e., as prime); teaming
arrangement(s) with larger firms is encouraged. Specific requirements,
all of which must be met, are as follows: Must have acted as prime
contractor in a classified data center environment, operating 24X7X365,
where all shifts are utilized in completing tasks (i.e., shift 2 hands
off work to shift 3, and work continues to progress on a specific
task); must be able to provide people for all 3 shifts, including
substitutes when employees are ill and/or short-term personnel for
specific tasks; must provide fully-trained personnel to include
Microsoft-Certified LAN Engineers -- all employees must have
successfully completed MS NT Client training and all must be competent
in advanced capabilities of the MS Office Suite; company must possess
or be capable of obtaining Top Secret Facilities clearance; employees
must possess or be capable of obtaining Top Secret clearance through
SCI; must be able to manage Microsoft Windows NT servers and clients,
help desks, MS Exchange servers and clients, DEC Alphas, IBM AIX
servers, IBM-compatible PC's, and Wang desktop equipment. Most services
required in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, but some local and
international travel may be required. Firms responding must include
the following information: Business size and classification (no large
businesses, please); GSA Schedule information if applicable (do you
have a GSA Schedule contract that includes the required services? If
so, please provide contract no. and expiration date of contract);
provide at least two references (agency, contact name and correct phone
no.) where you have been providing these services as the prime
contractor in a classified, 24X7X365 environment; describe your ability
to fulfill personnel requirements, both in terms of numbers and
qualifications (use current contracts as examples); and current
corporate/personnel clearances, if any. This market research
information will be utilized to determine the Department's course of
action. Response to this synopsis will not entitle firms to submit a
proposal in response to a formal solicitation or request for
