General Services Administration Tuesday, December 8, 1998 On Tuesday,
December 8, 1998, the General Services Administration Office of
Government Wide Policy and CITA (Center for Information Technology
Accommodation) will be hosting a one-day, one-site procurement
opportunities fair. The day will consist of seminars and vendor
displays. The event will be heavily promoted to all GSA personnel.
Vendor capabilities should include visual, hearing, mobility and
ergonomic enhancements to accommodate people at their workstations,
plus life-safety products, signage, and telecommunications
accommodation. Some appropriate technologies to exhibit include:
keyboard alternatives & enhancements, speech output screen reading
systems, TDD compatible PC modems, automated attendant systems/TDD
access, braille output printer/embosser/translation/refreshable braille
display, speech recognition, telecommunications, optical character
readers, robotic devices, tactile output non-braille, enlarging
display/hardcopy output and other special devices. The seminar schedule
is as follows: 8:00 a.m. -- 9:00 a.m. registration, check-in and
exhibits set up. 9:00 a.m. -- 9:30 a.m. conference in-gathering and
keynote address. 9:30 -- 9:45 break. Session I begins at 9:45 a.m. --
10:45 a.m. "Becoming GSA Schedule Capable". From 10:45 a.m. to 11:00
a.m. break and exhibits open until 2 p.m. Session II follows from 11:00
a.m. -- 12:00 p.m. on "IT Quality Assurance Initiatives". For more
