COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF OCTOBER 28,1998 PSA#221028 -- COMMERCIALIZATION OF NASA'S FASTRAC ENGINE NASA/MSFC seeks
industry input in determing the future of low-cost boost technologies
and specifically how NASA might transfer technology into the
manufacture and use of NASA's Fastrac Engine. The Fastrac engine,
designed by MSFC, is a low-cost alternative engine which provides
60,000 pounds of thrust and has many potential launch system
applications. NASA envisons use of the engine for both mission needs
and commercial markets. You are invited to participate by responding to
the following questions: What strategies should NASA consider for
commercialization ? Would a commercial supplier need license
exclusivity for economic viability? If non-exclusive licenses would
serve NASA partners, how many could the technology support ? Please
