28 -- COMMERCIALIZATION OF NASA'S FASTRAC ENGINE NASA/MSFC seeks industry input in determing the future of low-cost boost technologies and specifically how NASA might transfer technology into the manufacture and use of NASA's Fastrac Engine. The Fastrac engine, designed by MSFC, is a low-cost alternative engine which provides 60,000 pounds of thrust and has many potential launch system applications. NASA envisons use of the engine for both mission needs and commercial markets. You are invited to participate by responding to the following questions: What strategies should NASA consider for commercialization ? Would a commercial supplier need license exclusivity for economic viability? If non-exclusive licenses would serve NASA partners, how many could the technology support ? Please feel free to offer any additional comments relating to Fastrac commercialization.
