Instruction will consist of both formal and on-the-job position training as applicable to launch/early orbit, on-orbit, anomaly resolution, and disposal operations. Topics will include but not limited to; command and control operations; time sharing option/interactive system productivity facility operations; personal computers and associated peripherals operations; agency interaction, both internal and external to the 50th Space Wing; orbit mechanics theories and concepts. Training will be conducted primarily at Schriever AFB with quarterly training at Onizuka AS in conjunction with the 1 SOPS quarterly deployments. The contractor shall conduct training for approximately six orbital analysts currently assigned to 1 SOPS who have not completed training. Additionally, an estimated 10 new personnel will require training each year. The contractor shall review, evaluate, and assess change proposals and other modifications for impacts to existing training courses and provide recommendations for course changes. The contractor shall interface the Space Operations and Maintenance (SOM) contract on the development of training simulations and scenarios. RFP FA2550-99-R0005 will be issued on or about 11 Nov 98 with proposals due on or about 16 Dec 98. The basic period of performance will be 1 Feb 99 through 30 Sep 99 with three one year option periods.
